Oxfam
Along with a great selection of clothes, books and bric-a-brac, our Oxfam Newtownards shop also sells home furnishings and some small pieces of furniture. We also occasionally receive donations of brand new high-end women’s wear with tags still on, so keep an eye out! Located in the heart of the market town, there is a great buzz especially on Saturdays. Every item donated and purchased helps to big a difference to lives of people trying to break free from poverty and injustice around the world.

This project aims to tackle the prevalence of School Based Sexual Violence in schools. It will work with pupils, schools staff and communities to raise awareness and build effective and functional mechanisms to report and deal with any. There will be a primary focus on girls but boys are clearly integral to this work through their involvement and the ability and relevance of the mechanisms to support any incidences of sexual abuse against boys and young men. The mechanisms created will ensure that both communities and schools remain safe places for young people to grow up and develop in. Working with two experienced local organisations, Oxfam Malawi will be part of an effective partnership. | |||

Syrian Refugees have been fleeing the devastating impact of the Syrian Civil War since 2011, however with the increase in reporting and border closures the impact of the mass migration is being felt throughout Europe and neighbouring Countries. Oxfam have identified the needs of Syrian refugees fleeing to Jordan and have designed a water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) project to support these needs. This includes supporting Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanian households with WASH support in the form of repairs and rehabilitation. |
